Jilly and I had great little run out on the Harley this weekend just gone. We didn't go far, just up to Rugby, but we stayed away overnight so it was a useful exercise to see what we could fit in. I know it was only 1 night as opposed to 21 nights but considering we were carrying a few bottles of wine with us, we were able to carry a fair bit of kit in just the saddle bags, so that's given us a bit of confidence that we should be able to fit in what we need on our Road Trip!
We had a great weekend, stayed in a nice little hotel, had a lovely evening with some friends who took us to a great pub (excellent wide selection of ales and rugby on the TV!) and fed us some fabulous Mexican food. Then we met up for lunch with an old school friend of Jilly's whom she hadn't seen for about 30 years. And on top of that, we didn't get wet, despite an unpromising forecast. So, all in all a great weekend and a useful practice run!
I was fearful of the weather for your return trip, but the rain held off and we managed both Sunday ganes without getting soaked. Thanks again for providing the wine and especially the good company. :-)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you didn't get soaked! We had a great time - thanks once again!
